This site was inspired by the motorcycle enthusiasts who share their knowledge and experiences via the web.
My own first steps toward making motorcycling a part of my life were taken by visiting their web sites.
They educated, inspired and entertained me as I made the transition from theory to experience - and they still do.
|
I enjoy the sites of both the mechanically savvy and those simply having some stories and pictures to share,
so hopefully others will get a kick out of my modest contibution of a few pictures and experiences so far.

I drive a Kawasaki Vulcan VN750 because it fits who I am on multiple levels, including the kind
of driving I do and my appreciation for anything well-engineered, among other things. Those other things
are discussed on the background page.
I'm not much into motorcycling for the sake of identifying with a particular style, persona or brand.
I have little interest in joining motorcycle clubs or groups, or in being thought of in any particular
way because I choose to drive a motorcycle. I ride because I love it; that's all. I ride for the
incredible freedom high. I ride because I look good in leather.
I live and work in beautiful Santa Barbara, California. I'm married and have two sons,
two dogs and two cats. I'm a man of faith, active in my church. I work in Information Technology and own
a consulting company. I bought my 2003 VN750 new in June 2003.
Though I'm not into clubs, I do enjoy riding with others. Most of my riding is local but I look forward to
eventual extended road trips on the bike as I gain experience and equip myself to take it on.
Hope you enjoy the site.

Perhaps the best resource you'll find on the web for VN750 owners or anyone considering a VN750 is the VN750 Discussion Group at
yahoo.com. I came across this site in November, 2003 and checked out some of the discussions, members' photos
and the database of articles of experience contributed by the group members. I thought "what a great resource",
bookmarked the site and visited it a couple times when I happened to be looking for bike-related information.
In March 2004 I received an e-mail from one of the moderators of this
group putting out a call to help out a
fellow member in need. Wanting to know more, I went to the site and started reading the many
discussions posted by the active members. I was able to pick up on what the request for help was about and in
the process, I gained insight into the community of riders that frequent the
site and enrich us all with their opinions, stories, and expertise. I was impressed by the way the moderators handled putting out
the call for assistance for a fellow biker and his family. I was further impressed by the comraderie and caring
that characterize the discussions centered around the awesome life experience that is motorcycling - and one of
the best motorcycles to experience it on. Each new member is greeted with the same cordial welcome and encouraged
to share.
Since that time, I've revisited the site on a regular basis and try to keep up with the posts and what
is going on with the members. It is because of them I decided to put together this site and share a little
something about one rider's Kawasaki Vulcan VN750.
